Our British, American and Australian friends are already well aware that we are relatively close to Giverny, internationally known for Monet's Garden. An absolute must-see for nature lovers, but known also for its charming architecture and its mouth-watering catering. We are a mere 45 kilometers away - and what's more there is a stop on the way well-worth visiting, at Gerberoy.

To go there is to go back in time. It's difficult to imagine a more typical treasure of the Vexin area. Neither Norman nor Picard, this little village embodies that tranquil French way of life so sought after by our friends from overseas. If time permits, refresh yourself at a pavement café and then wander around. We guarantee you will dream of giving it all up and moving there immediately! Do share your impressions with us when you return.

Equally near is Chaumont - where no visit would be complete without popping into the church - on the way to Gisors (in Normandy) - a historic French town with its Castle of Knights Templar from the time of Philip the Handsome. Don't miss the nearby Cathedral with its original design, especially in terms of the rare prominence it gives to light.

If you want to continue even further on your journeys, take the Lyons la-Foret road towards the Bray and D'Andelle region, where you will discover the typical small town where Claude Chabrol located his film Madame Bovary. Also recommended is a stroll in the forest, the biggest Beech Grove in France. On your way back you can stop at Gournay-en-Bray, from where you can head towards Saint Gewrmer de Fly, with its interesting ruins.

We can provide you with useful brochures which will help you decide on further trips. we have only described some of the local attractions here.

Further to the south of our village, art lovers can indulge themselves. A mere 25 kilometers away is the town of AUVERS SUR OISE, famous for having welcomed Vincent Van Gogh. Here you can see all the places where he lived - now restored and open to visitors. Another very pleasant outing.

This list is by no means exhaustive - and of course those who wish to experience Paris without having to drive there will be glad to know that we are close to a station with a direct line to St Lazare. Leave your car with us - we will be glad to drop you at the station and pick you up when you return. No more parking nightmares, traffic jams or other headaches!
